good morning! welcome back to day three of the papertrey ink january release countdown and another look at my new pieces of confetti product ensemble this month: fiesta flag birthday. today, i'm focusing on the stamp set and the accompanying die collection minus the flag die. the cake and icing details, the stand, and the banner and phrase stamps all fit right onto the flag, but work nicely on their own as well. here i've paired the set with betsy's mix and mat: confetti for the perfect clean and simple birthday card.
the cake is a basic round cake with a selection of icing details to layer on top. it sits on a pedestal cake plate that can be stamped with a trim detail if desired. there is one die for both the cake and pedestal together, plus another die of the cake alone. i like to add the cake as a second layer to make it look more like it's on top of the cake plate. the candle is completely separate so that you can add one or more or leave it off completely.
for my pink cake, i decided on the cake layer in sweet blush with the icing ruffles overlay in hibiscus burst. the banner and cake stand are stamped in hawaiian shores and tropical teal, creating a balance between the top and bottom of the focal image grouping. i love how the confetti in white with the sweet blush card showing through sets the stage. those mix and mats make the most fun layers!
the end result is a sweet pretty in pink birthday card, possibly for a first birthday with that single candle! and while it was quick and easy to put together, it definitely doesn't look it. i have a feeling i'll be making a few more of these in different color ways soon! we're just a couple days away from the fifteenth and new stamps now - i hope you're enjoying everything so far! i know i'm having fun sharing it with you. be sure to come back tomorrow for another project. until then, there are lots of links to follow on to the papertrey ink blog!
enjoy!
