hello! welcome back to day four of the papertrey ink january release countdown and another look at my new pieces of confetti product ensemble this month: fiesta flag birthday. today, i have a card with everything - stamp set, stamp set die collection, and flag. so far, i've shown projects focusing on the flag or the stamp set, but they are designed to work together as well. gotta love options!
after yesterday's pink, i decided to work with blues and greens today, starting with a limeade ice die cut flag, adhered cover plate style on my card front. then i assembled the die cut and stamped pieces, all cut from white cardstock.
after stamping the banner in hawaiian shores, i decided to die cut the phrase happy birthday rather than stamp it - either is a great option! i wanted the cake plate to show up a little darker than the die cut flag, so i chose simply chartreuse ink. and i wanted the cake to stand out a little more, so i went with harvest gold before adding the diamond icing detail in hawaiian shores. a candle was a must!
i almost stopped there, but i still had those tissue paper leftovers on my desk, so i placed a few light blue ones into the sentiment and flag and liked them, so i decided to add a pattern of them, leaving alternating spaces white for interest and balance. and then i called it done! i really like how this one turned out - another just like i imagined it when i designed it moment! this is one of those cards i want to repeat in a variety of colors and give to all the birthday people! that's all for today, but i'll be back with one more project tomorrow - until then, be sure to head over to the papertrey ink blog and follow the pretty links...
stamp it! (all new stamps and dies will be available on january 15th!)
